Family Support & Organizing

The juvenile legal system can be intimidating, scary, and confusing – both for young people and their families. Our Parent Navigators have been through it before, and help other families understand the legal process, access resources, and advocate for themselves and their children.

We also host family events at New Orleans’ juvenile jail so that families can stay connected with their children during secure custody – one of the best ways to keep support systems intact and reduce future offending.

It takes a village
to raise a child.

Outside of the system, we provide communal spaces for family members to support each other, offer mutual aid, and heal from trauma. We learn about and collectively address the systems affecting our lives so no one has to face it alone.
