Meet our partner…CJI!
Have you heard that Ubuntu has received a $15,000 grant from the CJI Starving the Beast Fund? This new funding allowed us to organize grassroots efforts that resulted in greater participation in the legislative process of residents across the state. Additionally, this funding will directly help us to continue the parent navigator program in juvenile court to serve parents and families of incarcerated youth.
The Circle for Justice Innovations is an innovative grantmaking collaborative operating nationally made up of community organizers, activists, donors, and donor-activists. The CJI Starving the Beast Fund identifies, funds, and nurtures grassroots organizations that deliver resources, provide harm-reduction services, and address policy change that will limit police interactions around mental health, homelessness, and consenting adult behavior. Over the last 20 years, CJI has invested nearly $6 million in grants to more than 160 organizations. To learn more please visit www.cjifund.org.
